A thin client (sometimes also called a lean or slim client) is a computer or a computer program which depends heavily on some other computer (its server) to fulfill its traditional computational roles.
The thin client computer contains enough information to start up and connect to a more powerful network server, and the server computer provides the rest of the computing horsepower. The thin server may not even have a hard drive. If the thin client computer needs to use a program or save a file, it will connect to the network server computer to do so.
It is extremely useful because it requiress less maintainance, power and price. So people can afford more numbers of PC's in the same budget and can decrease their monthy electricity bill.
A computer is a programmable machine that receives input, stores and manipulates data, and provides output in a useful format.
A laptop is a personal computer designed for mobile use and small and light enough to sit on a person's lap while in use.
